Capricorn 12/22 to 1/20
Capricorns are career-minded, dependable and outspoken, so 19-year-old Cap girl Amber Benson is the sign's perfect poster girl. Her latest movie project, Don's Plum, was such an irresistible opportunity that she did it for free. When you get to spend nights shooting scenes
with a guy like Leonardo DiCaprio, who needs a paycheck? "I play this hippie chick who all these guys end up harassing, and at one point Leonardo and I get into a huge fight," explains Amber. "It was fun." Her cosmic characteristics: For Amber (and a lot of other Cap girls), a little light reading usually means devouring classics by Faulkner and Hemingway. Amber is also multi-faceted: She knows how to take apart a hair dryer and put it back together, and she even designs beaded jewelry. What's in Capricorn's house of style: Ambitious Capricorn likes to look sharp -- but this year she'll also surprise when she peps up with a serious suit with a playful printed shirt. Goat girl doesn't go for extensive
eye shadow application, so she'll just stick with the sturdy eyelash curler that's always served her well. This year she'll also attempt to inspire others with her
anti-waste philosophy -- like, she'll chair the school's recycling program or maybe just pass all her old sweatshirts on to her little sister.
On Amber: Velvet jacket, United Colors of
Benetton; $235. Shirt, E.N.A.; $32.
