| Biography
of Amber Nicole Benson :-
Amber Nicole
Benson was born on the 8th of January 1977, in Birmingham
Alabama, USA.
Amber was taught acting and singing from an early age, and
attended Alabama Ballet Company and the Birmingham Children's
Theater. She decided she wanted to be an actress at age 9 when
she was working on the Birmingham Summerfest production of
"Snow White".
She
moved to LA to further her career in the late 1980's and even
lived opposite Universal Studios. Her 1994 film debut in 'King
of the Hill' earned her a Young Artist Award nomination for
'Best Youth Actress Co-Starring in a Motion Picture Drama'.
Following a number of film and TV roles Amber got the part of
the lesbian Wiccan, Tara in "Buffy the Vampire
Slayer" which brought her talents to the attention of
millions worldwide, earning her a wide fan-base.
Amber
currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her mum, a
Dalmatian called Penny and a cat called Benneton – whom she
affectionately calls Benny.
In her spare time, she reads and (though she doesn't like to
admit it because it makes her leap into 'blushing-and-modest
mode') writes. Her weird facts are that she is a vegetarian
and doesn't drive.
She
has recently finished her own independent film called 'Chance'
which she wrote, produced and directed.
She has also recently written three comics -
'WannaBlessedBe' and 'Wilderness' are official BtVS comics, co-authored with
Christopher Golden.
"Weirdly
enough, I was totally interested in Wicca when I was younger.
There was this cool book by STARHAWK - total Wicca queen- and
it was really interesting to read how Earth based Wicca is.
More like an environmental- love your fellow human being (even
if she is dating Willow the hottie!) - kinda religion... Plus
read so much sci-fi/mythology stuff when I was a kid... "
